Refund Policy

This policy explains when you are entitled to a refund for a Qalam session and how the process works. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
Cancellations by students
You may cancel a confirmed booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled session start time and receive a full refund with no questions asked.
Cancellations made within 24 hoursof the session are non-refundable, unless the scholar also fails to attend. We recommend cancelling as early as possible out of respect for the scholar’s time.
Cancellations by scholars
If a scholar cancels a confirmed booking for any reason, you will receive a full refund automatically. You will also be free to rebook with the same scholar or choose a different one.
Scholars who cancel repeatedly risk suspension from the platform.
No-shows
If you do not attend your session and did not cancel within the permitted window, no refund will be issued.
If a scholar does not attend and did not cancel in advance, you will receive a full refund. Please allow up to 10 minutes before reporting a scholar as absent — occasional connection delays do happen.
Technical failures
If a session cannot take place due to a verified failure on Qalam’s platform — for example, the video room failing to launch through no fault of either party — you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no extra cost.
Technical issues arising from your own device, browser, or internet connection are not grounds for an automatic refund. We will review these cases individually — contact us as soon as the issue occurs.
Partial sessions
If a session is cut short because a scholar ends it early without reasonable cause, a partial refund proportional to the unused time may be issued at our discretion.
If you leave a session early of your own accord, no refund will be issued for the unused portion.
Disputes
If you and your scholar disagree about whether a session took place or was delivered adequately, either party may raise a dispute by contacting us at support@qalam.co within 48 hours of the scheduled session end time.
We will review the case — including session records and any relevant communication — and issue a decision within 5 business days. Our decision is final.
How refunds are processed
All refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe. Once we issue a refund, it typically takes 5–10 business daysto appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer. Qalam has no control over your bank’s processing time.
You will receive an email confirmation when a refund has been issued.
How to request a refund
Email us at support@qalam.co with your booking details and the reason for your request. Please include the session date, scholar name, and your account email. We aim to respond to all refund requests within 2 business days.
